Caterham PAT Testing provides electrical safety testing for handheld, portable, movable and stationary electrical equipment. From drills to table lamps to kettles we can carry out professional testing of your appliances in accordance with the IET 4th Edition guidelines.
Caterham PAT Testing is a City and Guilds qualified PAT tester.
Whilst PAT testing is not a legal requirement there are several guidelines that state that electrical appliances must be maintained to a good working order and that employers have a duty of care to their employees and users of electrical equipment.
The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 puts the duty of care upon both the employer and the employee to ensure the safety of all persons using the work premises. This includes the self employed.
The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 states:"Every employer shall make suitable and sufficient assessment of:(a) the risks to the health and safety of his employees to which they are exposed whilst at work, and
(b) the risks to ensure the health and safety of persons not in his employment arising out of or in connection with the conduct by him or his undertaking.
"The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 states:"Every employer shall ensure that work equipment is maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair."
We specialise in the testing of theatrical lighting and sound equipment, Mobile DJ equipment and other sound and lighting equipment in sports centres, nightclubs and function rooms.
Caterham PAT testing can come to your place of work or residence at a time to suit you. We can carry out testing 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to suit you. We will then check your appliance with our PAT test machine and carry out the required checks. All the test results will be documented and a certificate issued within 24 hours upon receipt of payment. An invoice will also be supplied.
There is a minimum charge for £60 for the first 25 items and then an additional charge of £1.25 per item. We can also carry out minor repairs for example.. replacing a fuse or plug for a minimal fee.
